GPS Tracking & Telematics

Forward Konnect sets up GPS tracking and telematics that show vehicle location, mileage, trips, idling, engine diagnostics, and vehicle activity in real time. We are not tied to one GPS or telematics brand — we help you choose the right fleet technology for your vehicles, manage the setup, connect it to your business systems, and stay involved after installation.

01

The problem

Without GPS tracking, a fleet is managed on memory and phone calls. Dispatch asks drivers where they are. Mileage is reconstructed from fuel receipts and odometer photos. Nobody knows how long a vehicle sat idling outside a job, whether a route made sense, or why the check-engine light has been on for two weeks.

That lack of visibility shows up as cost: fuel waste from excessive idling, inefficient routes, or unauthorized use; missed maintenance that leads to avoidable repairs and downtime; and manual tracking of mileage, maintenance, fuel, and vehicle activity that eats office time and is still wrong. When a customer disputes an arrival time, there is no record to settle it.

You cannot manage what you cannot see, and most fleet costs are invisible without tracking.

02

What we set up

We set up the right GPS tracking and telematics for your operation, connect it to your existing systems, and make the data easy to use. A typical setup covers:

01

Real-time vehicle location

See where every vehicle is now, where it has been, and how long it stopped, with history you can search when a question comes up.

02

Trips and mileage

Trips, distance, and business versus personal use recorded automatically, replacing manual logs.

03

Idling and route visibility

Idle time and route patterns by vehicle and driver, so waste is identified from data rather than suspicion.

04

Engine diagnostics

Fault codes, engine hours, and vehicle health reported from the vehicle, feeding maintenance planning before small problems become breakdowns.

05

Alerts and geofences

Notifications for after-hours movement, unauthorized use, site arrivals and departures, and the events you define.

06

Connections to your systems

Fleet data can connect with dispatch, accounting, payroll, and other business systems, so you do not end up managing another isolated platform.

The connectivity behind it matters too: GPS trackers, tablets, and in-vehicle devices need reliable wireless service, and we can manage the devices and business wireless plans alongside your fleet solution.

Independent recommendations, matched to your vehicles, operations, and budget.

How it works

  1. 01

    Assess

We understand how many vehicles you run, how they are used, what is tracked today, and which questions you cannot currently answer.

  2. 02

    Select

We match GPS tracking and telematics options to your vehicles, operations, and budget — not to a product we need to sell — and explain the trade-offs in writing.

  3. 03

    Install

We coordinate installation around your operations so vehicles are not pulled off jobs, and configure alerts, geofences, and reports around your needs.

  4. 04

    Connect

Telematics data is linked to dispatch, accounting, payroll, or reporting systems where that adds value, using our business automation practice.

  5. 05

    Support

Vehicles change, routes change, and your reporting needs change. We stay involved to adjust, optimize, and support the system as your business evolves.

One local point of contact who understands your fleet, from selection through support.

04

Who it's for

GPS tracking and telematics fit any business whose vehicles are part of how the work gets done — not only large fleets.

  • Service and trade companies dispatching technicians from the road
  • Delivery and courier operations that owe customers an accurate arrival window
  • Construction firms moving trucks and equipment between job sites
  • Carriers and logistics businesses managing routes, hours, and availability
  • Small fleets where everything currently lives in one person's head

A three-van operation can run a lightweight setup; a fifty-truck fleet needs deeper integration. The consultation is where we work out how little you can install and still get the visibility you want.

If vehicles carry your revenue, their data is worth having.

05

What it delivers

Connected GPS tracking and telematics give you the visibility to control costs, improve safety, and keep vehicles productive:

  • Lower fuel costs by identifying idling, inefficient routes, and unusual fuel use — explored further in fuel management.
  • Less downtime with maintenance based on actual vehicle usage rather than guesswork, through fleet maintenance management.
  • Better driver accountability with clear, objective performance data.
  • Improved safety through visibility into driving behavior.
  • Simpler compliance with records captured automatically as vehicles operate — see fleet compliance.
  • Better fleet decisions with a clear view of what each vehicle costs to operate.

How much room there is to improve depends entirely on how your fleet runs today. A fleet consultation is where we measure that.

Fleet management gives you the visibility to control costs, protect vehicles, and keep your business moving.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you sell the GPS hardware yourselves?

No. We are a consultancy, not a hardware brand. We select telematics platforms that fit your fleet, manage the purchase and installation, and integrate them with your office systems. The recommendation is driven by your duty cycle and budget, not by a product we need to move.

Will drivers accept being tracked?

Some will have questions, and rollout handles that directly: drivers are told what is collected, what it is used for, and what the policy is. Objective data also protects good drivers from inaccurate blame and false customer complaints. We help you set a coaching-first policy before the first report runs.

Can tracking data feed the systems we already use?

Usually yes, and that integration is most of the value. Location, mileage, and diagnostic data can feed dispatch boards, accounting tools, payroll inputs, and customer-notification workflows. We map those connections during design rather than leaving you with another login.

What should we have ready before the first conversation?

How many vehicles you run and how they are used, how mileage and maintenance are tracked today, whether hours-of-service rules apply, and what one report landing on your desk every week would change about your decisions.
